Helen Sankey probably knows as much about Gisborne as anyone.
Over the past 26 years she has built, renovated and sold several properties around the town. This, combined with a vast social and business network, has enabled her to step smoothly into the role of sales consultant.
Her strong connection with this community is something Helen eagerly shares wholeheartedly. Born and raised in New Gisborne, she attributes her enormous community pride to father Tom, a life member of the local football and cricket clubs, whose accomplishments saw the Sankey name chosen for a recreation reserve in the heart of Gisborne.
Helen’s intimate knowledge of the area is one of the greatest strengths she brings to the RT Edgar team. Her opinion of the Macedon Ranges has been further elevated through discovering more about places she has admired for years and quenching her thirst for local history.
Population growth in Gisborne and Riddells Creek, combined with land developments in the east of the Macedon Ranges, Helen believes the resulting jump in land and housing prices makes for an exhilarating and challenging work environment.
Helen derives great satisfaction from seeing clients find their dream property or achieve an excellent sale outcome. And she is determined to always give accurate information, even when it presents a reality check for those with a loose grasp of the market.
A mother to four sons, Helen has continued her family’s tradition of being a very proactive resident, volunteering to bring many projects to fruition including The Stadium, Gisborne; Macedon Ranges Netball Association Complex; and the Macedon Ranges Adventure Playground. She is a founding member of the Gisborne & District Community Bank; member of the New Gisborne Regional Sports Fields Project and Ross Watt Children’s Hall Trustee and Treasurer; and a Member of the Gisborne Cemetery Community Advisory Committee.
